Artist of the Day: Blackalicious- Alphabet Aerobics

Potentially better than Papoose’s “Alphabetical Slaughter”, Blackalicious has recorded what may be one of the coolest, most impressive concept rap songs ever to be created. Comprised of rapper Gift of Gab and DJ Chief Xcel, the duo shows its rapping capability through an entertaining, fast paced rap involving all 26 letters of the alphabet from A-Z. This amazing rap, combined with Eloi Collective’s (http://eloicollective.com/)music video, proves to be one of most entertaining concept rap songs out there today.

Artist of the Day: Rhymefest Ft. Ol' Dirty Bastard- "Build Me Up"

Rhymefest ft Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “Build Me Up” combines the ever popular “Build Me Up Buttercup” by The Foundations (Sung by ODB, this time) with modern day lyrics involving the struggles of getting with a woman. Rhymefest, co-writer for “Jesus Walks” and long time close friend of Kanye West, has been featured on Nick Cannon’s Wild’n Out, where he actually called out the young celebrity in the Wildstyle portion of the show. His line was as follows:  “The Black Team, a real hard team to deal with, what the hell is this? A little baby Will Smith? I don’t understand, by all accounts, Nick Cannon, get out of here, you need to Roll…Bounce!” Rhymefest has released two albums and five mixtapes since his start in 2006, check him out today.
